Who doesn’t love an excuse for a party? Why not go vintage for a first birthday? We’ve all seen the themed birthdays. So for this sweet girl, we decided to go more classic with a white, gold, peach and deep purple color palette. We used antique frames, fresh flowers, and polka dots to bring the old and new together on this delicious dessert buffet. Add cupcakes and champagne cake pops and you’re set!The star of the party was definitely her cake.We made a white cake with a hint of almond and coconut along with a vanilla frosting – all layered and topped with fresh blackberries! AND get this – it was grain, gluten and dairy free! You might think it looked great but probably tasted horrible, right? Well, then why did I see her uncle sneaking bites of it in the kitchen and her daddy eating it with her? Hehe.To please the adults, we decided to go with Pink Champagne Cake pops. We topped them with sugar granules and gold dust which turned out beautifully. Everyone approved.Blueberry Poppyseed cupcakes played well with the color palette and were a nice addition to an early afternoon party on a Sunday. Overall, this party was a HIT with the kiddos as well as the adults. It was the perfect beginning to this sweet girl’s second year of life!
